Musikopoly!!! Monopoly.. with a music twist!

Today i have been putting together my private music program together for my piano students, starting back in a couple of weeks. This year it will be all about the fun, and incentives, so i thought i would share this great incentive program i came across, giving full credit to a wonderful lady. Click this link for more details and also where you can download it for yourself!

This is the game board, which will also direct you straight the the page with the information and the extra links.

Here you can see the 'Bach Bucks' which the students collect each lesson according to different attributes of 'pay day'. When they have enough Bach Bucks, they purchase the houses etc to move through the game board.

Here is a picture of the property stamps that when purchased will be glued on to their game board to track progress.

What is a game of Musikopoly without 'get out of jail free cards, free parking cards and chance cards?' I also love the 'creative quest cards where students can take home an extra challenge to earn more 'Bach Bucks.'

Of course there is a rule book, to inform you on how you can achieve the 'Bach Bucks' and what happens on 'PAY DAY'.

After putting this together for my piano students it got me thinking, what a fabulous behaviour reward system!!

So now, I am working on a 'school friendly' version!!

Happy Teaching !

Improving Vocabulary GAMES!

Vocabulary GAMES (:

This first game is called Word Girl: Synonym Toast!
Click on the picture to play (:

This game is for the older stage students, the toaster gives you a word, for example confuse. When the game starts toast falls from the top of the page, you then have to click on words that are synonyms for the word on the toaster, for example trouble, astonish and baffle.

Be careful though, the toaster changes the word randomly, so keep your eye on the toaster because it doesn't like wrong synonyms. (:

The second game is called: Don't Use Said!
Click on the picture to play (:

This is more of a teaching tool, you will have to check this one out! When this game begins, displayed is a sentence not using the word 'said'. You can use this tool to talk about other words for 'said' but also to talk about punctuation and plain text.

Give this one a go, i think you might like it. (:

This Website has lots of vocabulary games, as well of lots of extras!!
Click on the picture to play (:

There are lots of games to check out on this website (:

Hope you are having a lovely day!

Planning Share!

Im linking up with Mrs. Bainbridge's Class to share lesson planning documents!

Please remember i am a STUDENT TEACHER!! This is why my plans are so detailed, as per the university recommendations, cannot wait to modify my plan even more to have less text (:

I can't complain though, when i first began student teaching, we had to write three A4 pages of notes for ONE lesson! I know right, so let me say, this is much nicer to work with (:

Join in the fun and link up with us and share some of your plan book ideas!

Paste a link to your page below, i love teacher inspiration!

Where is the Green Sheep?

Where is the Green Sheep?

'Where is the Green Sheep' was a very popular story book in my Kindergarten classroom, the children loved it, not only because it was a great story with pictures but because they could read along and learn how to read the words.

Over the weekend, i have been trying to think of ways to incorporate creative writing more into the younger grades, let their imagination run wild. I once saw a kindergarten teacher send home a teddy bear with one child each weekend. When the bear would visit they would have all sorts of adventures, teddy bears picnics, the bear would even go on special family vacations. The weekend home was documented with pictures and then the parents/family would help write a story to the class about what bear got up to with said family!

What a great idea i thought, not only can it be any form of writing, but it really encourages the parents/care givers to become involved and interested, and most of all, it was completely voluntary. The children that thought it wasn't such a great idea to begin with, would soon change their mind when they began to hear the stories that bear would get up to.

To incorporate this idea into my classroom, specially in the younger years, i thought it would be great to incorporate a book we were reading in class.

I have hand made a green sheep for the students to take home, as a similar idea as the bear story. The take home pack would include:

* Camera
* Sleepover bag
* Spare clothes for after a bath
* Class book for writing in
* A copy of where is the green sheep book, incase they need inspiration and ideas, and of course because it is our green sheeps' favourite book, as well as ours!

I wonder what that green sheep would get up to in your classroom adventures?

Hi All!!

I was creating this spelling rule sign for my classroom, (love my laminator) so I thought that I would share it with all of you as part of my appreciation for following my blog! On my last Prac, I had a grade 1 class, with many different personalities. As a class we made this cute little rap for them to recite if they had trouble remembering what the Bossy e does! I bet you can imagine how special Sam felt having his and her name in our special rap, those two lucky ducks became "The Bossy E Detectives!" Super cute!!

I hope you all enjoy this and can to use it in your classroom as a fun way to learning spelling rules!

I am also wondering if anyone can tell me how to add your bright buttons to my blog? I know how to 'grab' them, but I am unsure what to do after that!
